Mike Chambers

Until his retirement in 2020, Mike Chambers was the Executive Vice President of Johnson University Florida. His prior service to Christian higher education includes nine years as Academic Dean at Saint Louis Christian College and thirty-seven years as a member of the faculty of Florida Christian College, where he taught courses in Bible, ethics, logic, philosophy, apologetics, world religions, and Greek language. An ordained minister, he held located ministries in Collinsville and Springfield, Illinois, from 1970 to 1979.

Dr. Chambers earned the B.A. from Lincoln Christian College, majoring in Church Growth and World Mission. He received the M.A. and the M.Div. degrees from Lincoln Christian Seminary in Doctrine and Philosophy. Following additional post-graduate studies at Concordia Seminary, the University of Cincinnati, the University of South Florida, and the Institute for Advanced Christian Studies, he completed a doctoral residency in Philosophy at the University of Florida and earned the Ph.D. in Ancient Philosophy from Warnborough University in Canterbury, England. His dissertation evaluates the philosophical uses of myth by the Greek philosopher Plato.

A published author (The Message of God in the Language of Man; What They Did Right; various articles), Dr. Chambers also was a visiting professor at Cincinnati Christian Seminary in Apologetics and has been a guest speaker at various conferences, conventions, and churches. He is a member of the governing boards of Mission Myanmar and Pioneer Bible Translators, and formerly served on the board of the Consortium for Urban Religious Education, St. Louis, and the steering committee of OceanPointe Christian Church, Newport County Rhode Island.

Dr. Chambers enjoys lifelong interests as a small boat builder, landscape gardener, and avid reader of mystery fiction. He is a state-certified Guardian ad Litem (volunteer child advocate) in Florida’s Ninth Judicial District.

Mike and his wife Pam have three married children and eight grandchildren. They are members of Kissimmee Christian Church, Kissimmee FL, where he is an elder.
